REA holds tailgate party, energy lecture

The Rice Engineering Alumni balanced business and pleasure this spring with a baseball tailgate party and a lecture on the future of biofuels.

The annual REA baseball tailgate party was held March 17. Houston-area alumni and family gathered over bratwurst and beer before watching Rice defeat California Polytechnic State University, of San Luis Obispo, 7-2.

On April 4, the REA hosted the second lecture in its Energy Lecture series. Ramon Gonzalez, the William W. Akers Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, spoke on "Emerging Technologies for the Production of Biofuels and Biochemicals from Renewables." Go to here to view the lecture.
